VAT Withholding Calculator
On a invoice with VAT withholding, the VAT the buyer pays and the amount the seller collects. From the VAT-exclusive amount, the VAT-inclusive amount or the amount paid.
The VAT calculator instantly gives you the VAT-inclusive and VAT-exclusive equivalent of an amount. It applies the rate to a VAT-exclusive amount to find the price with VAT, and from a VAT-inclusive amount it separates the net amount and the VAT contained in it. The rates common in Turkey (1%, 10%, 20%) are on ready-made buttons, and if you need a different rate you can type it in.
The calculation runs in your browser and no data is sent. Results are for information only; for returns and invoices, consult your accountant.
KDV hariçten: KDV = Tutar × Oran ÷ 100 · Toplam = Tutar + KDV KDV dahilden: Matrah = Tutar ÷ (1 + Oran ÷ 100) · KDV = Tutar − Matrah
The most common mistake is subtracting the rate directly from the VAT-inclusive amount. For a price of 1,200 ₺ including 20% VAT, deducting 1,200 × 0.20 = 240 ₺ is wrong; the correct result is 200 ₺.
The right way is to divide: 1,200 ÷ 1.20 = 1,000 ₺ net amount, and the 200 ₺ difference is the VAT. The tool's "VAT-inclusive" option does this calculation.
The common rates in Turkey are 1%, 10% and 20%. Some basic food products are taxed at 1%, many foods and some services at 10%, and the standard rate is 20%. If you aren't sure which list your product falls under, ask your accountant — a wrong rate is an error that is a hassle to correct afterward.
The customer sees the VAT-inclusive price, while your profit is calculated on the net amount. So when setting a price, first find the selling price (excluding VAT) from your purchase cost and target profit margin, and add VAT last. The profit margin calculator applies this order automatically.
At a 20% rate, the net amount is 833.33 ₺ and the VAT is 166.67 ₺. The calculation is: 1,000 ÷ 1.20 = 833.33 and 1,000 − 833.33 = 166.67.
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser; the amounts you enter are not sent to any server or stored.
This tool is for a single amount. For hundreds of products, download the product price list Excel template; its VAT-inclusive selling price column is formula-driven.
This tool does a standard VAT calculation. In transactions subject to withholding, part of the VAT is not paid to the seller; to see the withheld VAT and the amount payable to the seller, use the VAT withholding calculator. Confirm the rate with your accountant.
