Store Credit Ledger Excel
A digital ledger that automatically calculates, per customer, the credit extended, the amount paid, the remaining balance and the number of days overdue.
A payment receipt is a signed document that a business draws up and hands to the payer when it receives money from a customer or debtor, showing who paid how much, on what date, by what method and for what. It documents a single payment: the daily cash book runs every amount going into and out of the till during the day, while the debt itself is held by the credit ledger or the customer account tracking template. The first tab of this file is the printable receipt itself; the same page has two copies, one for the customer and one for you. When you enter the amount, the previous balance and the payment method, the remaining balance is calculated by formula and the second copy fills in on its own. On the second tab you keep the receipts you have issued in a single list by serial number.

| Column | What it does |
|---|---|
| Series / Serial No | The receipt's number (e.g. A-0142). Numbers are issued in order without gaps; a cancelled receipt is not deleted but stays in the list marked "Cancelled". This is the first piece of information to look up when a payment is questioned. |
| Date | The day the money was actually received. If a check or promissory note was accepted, the due date is also written in the description. |
| Payer (Person / Company) | The full name of the person paying or the company's legal name; plus their phone number or account code if you have one. If the payment is made on someone else's behalf, both names are written. |
| Amount (in Figures) | The amount received. If there are cents (kuruş), they are written out. |
| Amount (in Words) | The amount in words, written by hand in the form "Only … Turkish Lira … Kuruş". It is the oldest and most effective protection against the figure being altered afterward. |
| Payment Method | Drop-down list: cash, bank transfer / EFT, credit card, check, promissory note. For a check or note, the bank, serial no. and due date are written in the description. |
| Description | What the money was received for: such as "against the August credit balance", "invoice no. 1180" or "deposit". This is where it becomes clear which debt was settled. For auto service and repair jobs, write which job the payment belongs to using the work order number; when the vehicle comes back, the receipt and the work order will find each other. |
| Previous Balance / Remaining Balance | Optional: if you enter the debt before the payment, the remaining balance is calculated by formula and shown on the receipt. The customer reads from the receipt how much they still owe. |
| Received By and Signature | The name and signature of the person who received the money; a space for the business's stamp. There is also room for the payer's signature if you wish. |
| Receipt List (Data tab) | A one-line record of each receipt with its serial no., date, payer, amount, payment method and status. The Summary tab breaks total collections down by payment method and counts the cancelled ones. |
A payment receipt is a signed document that the party receiving the money gives to the payer, showing that a certain amount was received from a certain person on a certain date for a certain purpose. For the payer it is proof of "I paid", and for the business it is the record of which debt was settled.
In order: the receipt serial number, the date, the payer's name or company name, the amount in figures, the amount in words ("Only two thousand five hundred Turkish Lira"), the payment method (cash, bank transfer, card, check, promissory note), what the payment was for, and the name and signature of the person who received the money. For payments by check or promissory note, also write the bank, serial number and due date. If the remaining debt is known, write it on the receipt too; it answers the "how much do I still owe?" question before anyone asks it.
No. A payment received receipt shows that a payment was collected; it does not replace the invoice or sales slip that documents the sale itself. Whether you need to issue an invoice, a sales slip or a freelancer's receipt depends on tax regulations and your business's situation, so ask your accountant. This template is not an official form; it is an example to help you document payments in an orderly way.
It is a difference of direction. A payment received receipt (tahsilat makbuzu) is issued by the business that takes the money and handed to the payer when money comes INTO the business. A payment made receipt (tediye makbuzu) is issued when money goes OUT of the business, for example when cash is paid to someone, and it is signed by the person who receives the money. This file is for payments received, meaning money coming in; for the reverse document you will use when you make a payment, see the payment made receipt example Excel template.
Yes, it protects both sides: the customer can prove they paid, and you have a written record of which debt you were paid against. For partial payments, writing the remaining debt on the receipt settles any argument before it starts. After issuing the receipt, don't forget to close the same amount in your credit ledger; otherwise the customer keeps showing as owing even though they have paid.
The file is in Excel (.xlsx) format because the remaining balance and the second copy are filled in by formula. You can open it in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice and print it directly, or use "Save as PDF" and send it to the customer by email or WhatsApp.
Yes, it is free. The file doesn't ask for an email, a sign-up or a payment, and it has no watermark or cell protection. You can change the business details, payment methods and receipt wording to suit you.

Keeps a day-by-day record of cash going into and out of the cash box; automatically finds the difference between the end-of-day count and the book.
A printable two-copy voucher that has the person receiving a cash, bank-transfer, or check payment from the business sign for it; the list of issued vouchers and the total by expense type are on separate tabs.
Counts the money in the drawer by banknote and coin denomination, compares it with the recorded balance and works out the cash shortage or overage; a printable document for the person handing over and the person taking over to sign.
